No Sat. Sessions Rumor Confirmed

My April 26 post regarding the rumor that there won’t be any House sessions held on Saturdays until the last Saturday in May has been confirmed in a report today by Postcards from the Lege:

A bigger issue may be why the House has chosen, so far, not to work weekends until the final weekend in May.

Who made that decision? The dissenters point to Craddick. “He’s decided he doesn’t want to pass many bills,” says one, who requested anonymity because he still hopes to get a bill set for debate.

The speaker’s office says the schedule is day-to-day and he’s not intentionally slowing anything down.
