Overruling Ration

Oh, snap! Dunnam just called Craddick out on promising to print his rationales for overruling points of order in the Journal and not doing it. (Something I pointed out in the comments at BurkaBlog last week.) He cited two points of order — from 25 & 26 Apr — that were still lacking rationales in the Journal.

Craddick said the parliamentarian is working on them. Dunnam asked if the Speaker reads the parliamentarian’s rationale before ruling — because Burnam (who called the point of order on a Swinford Local & Consent bill) wasn’t half-way to the dais before the Speaker overruled it. Craddick says they had prior knowledge about the point of order. Then Dunnam wants to know when we can expect to see the parliamentarian’s rationale for overruling Democrats’ points of order. Craddick huffily responds with something like “when they get to it.”

Awesome! Go Dunnam!
